GSM

I've had that problem before when switching puis, I'm not sure what causes it. Try removing the playlist dropdown component from your foobar directory and load up foobar to clear its settings, then put it back in.

I'll try and figure out ratings sometime, it shouldn't be too hard to add it to the group header but I've never played around with them.

Hey, lm really struggling to get my album art showing, currently all my albums are found within the albums folder but all have different names. when l used the album art plug-in for foobar it used to get all of them, but since ive moved over too this skin for foobar it no longer registers any of them.
Any help would be much appreciated thanks.

I'm using your layout but some of my albumarts don't show up. It's just a black box. Is this normal? Is there something I don't know that has to do with filesize etc?

One strange thing that I've come across is that with VA albums where the default mode separates every track with a new header due to the artist field in the ID3 tags in each individual track is different. I can capture a screenshot if you'd like but I think I shall try to get more acquainted with how SCPL works so I can customize it myself.

Sorry for the lack of updates lately, I've been mostly happy with the config and have been hiding from all the retarded feature requests and bug reports on hydrogenaudio from people who can't be bothered to read the damn readme or even speak english.

The album mode is just the SCPL layout with a header, the singles mode is without a header. The way the new panels_ui plugin works is that there is a layout selector in the preferences you can customize to show the mode you want depending on how you want your playlist sorted.

This simple code

$if($isgrouped(album),

tells scpl that if the user has specified anywhere in the sort/group order that at some point the playlist is sorted by album, then it will use Album mode. Ie, if you sort by artist, album, then tracknumber, or if you sort by year, album, tracknumber, it will show album mode. If you sort by title then filetype, it will show singles mode.

The Default and Singles criteria you can create from the readme ensures that you can switch layouts WITHOUT scpl checking if it is grouped by album. This gives the previous functionality of using a button to switch from singles/album modes, and does not resort your playlist which is useful if you have a playlist thats sorted to your liking and you dont want it being reordered.

The proper tagging for various artists is to tag the album artist field as whatever you'd like, VA, various artists, etc, and the artists tag as the actual artist of the track. SCPL's group header is set to show %album artist%, which by default checks the album artist tag if it exists. If it doesn't exist, then it shows the artist tag. A properly tagged VA album will show like this:

Is anyone aware of posted instructions for this config anywhere, that would also have screenshots perhaps of all the steps.  I followed the included instuctions in the readme very closely but have obviously missed something.  I can't even use foobar anymore something has gone wrong - at this point, i need to uninstall and reinstall foobar so i can start over.

okay, new problem. I messed with the buttons, and changed the size and moved them around and  such, but they are still acting as if the width is the same, so the rectangle box that is drawn is extended past the buttons. if you don't understand what i'm talking about I can post a screenshot. Right now I can't figure out the problem, but im going to see if I can. Any help would be appreciated.



also, i should probably take these questions to the hydrogen audio forums, but ill ask here first because i dont have an account there. is it possible to remove the scrollbar in scpl or replace it or something?

I just downloaded the GSM skin for foobar2000 and I seem to be having trouble understanding the readme. I don't get the parts:

isplay -> Panels UI -> User Globals
        - $puts(coverPath,$replace(%path%,%filename_ext%,folder.*))
        Change folder.* to the naming scheme you use for album art.
        (i.e. albumart.jpg, folder.png)
        This code works by fetching folder.etc from the directory of the file. All your album art must be named the same to fetch correctly.
        ('*' symbol does not work for one of the functions required to check the existence of a file, specify the exact file name + extension, searching for *.jpg DOES NOT WORK.)

    Display -> Panels UI -> Layout Globals
        Read the comments in the code to change the options!

With Foobar approaching the versions it is lately is there a chance this layout/skin will become available and work with it? Most of the great work for foobar skins/layouts seemed to have peaked and died out when I search for them, required dead plugins and later versions of foobar that are broken with said plugins. It seems a shame, so I'm wondering if I should just be waiting for the community to catch up and adopt the latest versions of foobar or if I should devote more time into making these skins work with old foobar.
